Pray for Leadership Training Initiatives: Many of the original churches of the Charis Alliance were started by immigrants from nearby Chad and CAR. This reality, combined with the rapid growth in the total number of churches, created a great need for training new pastors. A Bible Institute was created to address this pressing need. Pray for the ongoing ministry of the Bible Institute in Yaoundé. Praise God for their new facilities, as well as for key national leaders who now serve as directors and professors. Ask God to provide strength for new students and families as they begin their program of studies.
Pray for Church Planting Initiatives: While local churches are planting churches throughout the country, a team of Cameroonian church planters is especially active in the northeast, a region of significant political and economic instability. Ask for God’s protection over these men and women, for boldness Alliance Status Member The Story of How We Got Started in this Country: charisalliance.org/cameroon to share the Gospel clearly, and for the planting of many new, strong churches.
Pray for National Recognition of Charis Churches: Decades of tight restrictions on the activities of newer religious groups has made it almost impossible for our Charis Association to obtain official government recognition. Ask God to move in the hearts of government officials to grant full legal status to our churches.
