Testimony of the Conversion of A Muslim from Sudan

In early July, after publishing the brief but moving story of how the work of the Charis Alliance began in Sudan, we received this message from a brother in a country in Central Africa. We will call him Dan* because it is important to protect his identity.

Message from Dan*:

I am going to share this testimony with you: I am so joyful in the Lord! I was one of the evangelists who was in Sudan. In 2014, I had the opportunity to share with an imam from a mosque in a village in the area. His name is Isma*. In our conversation, we talked a lot about the gospel, and he, in turn, told me about Islam. After that, we didn't see him again. Today, July 4, 2025, around 8 a.m., he was passing by where I am currently living. He knew I was in this village with my family and took the opportunity to stop by my house. He said to me, "My son, it was the Lord Jesus in His grace who wanted me to meet you in 2014. I didn't think I would see you again. My prayer to God was that He would grant me this grace so that I could testify to you about what I understood from the gospel, through the Arabic Bible you gave me that day." He told me to read John 6:1-13. I took my phone to read it in the Arabic electronic version, and when I finished reading it, he said to me in Arabic, "Teiyib," which means 'it's okay.' He continued, "My son (that's what he calls me), before I knew the gospel, I didn't know what the other (Muslim) prophets had done. The other prophets take away the possessions of others, but Jesus fed the people. The other prophets kill, but Jesus gave life and even raised those who were buried. They take life, He gave life. He gives life to those who believe in Him. All this filled me with joy after meeting you. The whole gospel you have shared with me gives me joy all day long. I saw many things that transformed me in the gospel. I am ready now. I await death to go and see Jesus. I have come to share with you what I am today, since I gave up being imam of the mosque. The Lord wanted you to be a witness to my change of faith in Jesus Christ."

Dan continued: My beloved brothers and sisters, this brings me joy, since you gave testimony about the history of the war in Sudan in the WhatsApp groups and asked for prayer. I come to share this with you so that you may also pray for Father Isma*, who has converted to Christ and came to confirm his faith today before me for the glory of our Lord Jesus.

I am Dan*, an evangelist. I live with my wife, who supports me in evangelism, and our three children.
