Day 14: United States of America

🇺🇸 United States of America

⛪️ Four Obstacles that can slow our efforts to plant new churches

  1. A growing number of people distrust churches because of scandals, political conflict, or painful experiences. Church planters need to build trust through honesty and a willingness to serve at a personal cost.

  2. Starting a church requires mature pastors and committed volunteers. Leaders may face stress, loneliness, burnout, and pressure to grow the church quickly.

  3. Rent, insurance, staff salaries, and equipment can be costly. New churches often struggle to find affordable meeting places and steady financial support.

  4. Communities include people from many faiths, cultures, and backgrounds. Conservative evangelical churches need to explain their beliefs clearly and treat everyone with respect.

🙏🏼 Three Prayer Requests for those laboring to plant new churches

  1. Ask God to raise up a new generation of church planters to start churches in new places. Pray that they will lead with humility, truth, and honesty so their communities see Christ’s love through their actions.

  2. Ask God to provide affordable meeting spaces, financial support, and committed volunteers for new churches.

  3. Ask God to help established churches recognize the many ethnic minority groups in their communities and find creative ways to plant churches among them.

🌍 Two Interesting Facts about our movement in this country

  1. The Charis Fellowship in the United States is seeing more baptisms and growing church membership. Praise the Lord!

  2. Many larger churches are training leaders and forming teams to strengthen struggling churches or start new ones. Efforts to plant churches in new places are also increasing.

♥️ One Precious Promise as we seek to plant new churches

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

—Galatians 6:9–10
