⛪️ Four Obstacles that can slow our efforts to plant new churches
Many Canadians do not see church as important. New churches must explain the Christian faith clearly and show why it matters in everyday life.
Some people are cautious about conservative churches because of past scandals, political divisions, or harmful religious experiences. Churches must earn trust through honesty, consistency, and genuine love.
Housing and meeting spaces can be expensive, especially in major cities. These costs make it harder for church planters to support their families and find places for new churches to meet.
Canada is home to people from many cultures, languages, and faith backgrounds. Church planters need wisdom to welcome people openly while remaining faithful to biblical beliefs.
🙏🏼 Three Prayer Requests for those laboring to plant new churches
Ask God to help church members and church planters speak about Jesus with courage, wisdom, kindness, and confidence as the culture becomes more opposed to the Christian faith.
Ask God to provide affordable meeting places, enough financial support, and protection for church planters, pastors, and their families.
Ask God to help new churches serve their neighbors with humility, build healthy relationships, and welcome people from every background.
🌍 Two Interesting Facts about our movement in this country
The Charis Alliance first began ministry in Canada in 1906, but a shortage of workers forced the work to close. Ministry began again in 1996.
Although long distances separate our churches and church plant from one another, their leaders find fellowship with nearby Charis churches and leaders across the border in the United States.
