⛪️ Four Obstacles that can slow our efforts to plant new churches
Many Brazilians are cautious of new churches because they have seen religious leaders misuse money, power, or public attention.
Churches may serve communities facing poverty, violence, addiction, and family stress. To meet these needs, leaders need wisdom, trained volunteers, and reliable resources.
New churches need mature pastors and ministry leaders. Providing solid biblical training while also meeting leaders’ financial needs can be difficult.
Government rules designed to protect Brazil’s indigenous communities from outside influences can greatly limit efforts to share the gospel and plant churches among them.
🙏🏼 Three Prayer Requests for those laboring to plant new churches
Ask God to help believers serve their local communities with honesty, humility, and compassion so that neighbors see the love of Christ clearly.
Ask God to raise up a new generation of church planters and volunteers who are rooted in Scripture, love people, and are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to start new churches.
Ask God to open doors for ministry in indigenous communities, especially along the Amazon River.

Charis Brazil’s leaders and churches are highly committed to following biblical principles of working together and depending on one another (interdependence). They are seeing good results as they serve and support each other.
Most Charis Alliance churches in Brazil are in the far northeast, with others are scattered across the southern states.

“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”
